The attached flyer has been distributed to local residents – please take the opportunity to go along and have your say on the future of Palmers Green.

We have also been advised that this issue will be discussed at the Bowes/Palmers Green & Southgate Green Area Forum on Thursday evening 20 March at 7.30pm at Trinity at Bowes  Methodist Church, Palmerston Road, N22 8RA .

You may have seen that the Council was successful in its ‘mini-Holland’ bid for around £30million to enhance cycleways etc. from Enfield through Palmers Green. This could have major effects upon roads, businesses etc in Palmers Green and could affect the future of the Triangle. Hopefully this issue will also be discussed at the Forum at the same time.”

Don’t forget, the Planning Appeal Hearing over the application to fell the mature oak tree at Lady Shaw Court, St Georges Road, N13. is on WEDNESDAY 5th March at 11.00am at the Civic Centre.

We, hopefully with others, will be speaking against this application.

It would be very helpful if as many members as possible could attend to show their support.

If you also wish to speak against the application you will need to advise the Planning Inspector on the day.

Hope to see you there.

NLOG AGM – 6th March 2014

There will be reports from the various office holders and the election of  people to these posts.

We will rapidly move on to discussions about:-

  •  growing plans for the year ahead
  •  insights on growing favourite plants successfully
  •  a favourite gardening tool (please bring it along) that you consider essential for your gardening work – whether it’s an implement for the eradication of snails or the extraction of dandelions we want to see them and share your joy in using them!

Be warned, there is a problem with the heating in the Small Hall and we may move to the Carey Hall, the one used for the plant sale, after initially gathering in our usual location

 at 8pm

in

The Baptist Church

Compton Road, Winchmore Hill N21 3PA

The meeting also includes a 50p raffle (where we all bring something with gardening connections to put on the table – and so we all win a prize! It can be as little as a packet of seeds, something grown or made, a second-hand garden book/ magazine etc).

We also hope to discuss any gardening issues that arise at the time.

Non-members welcome!

FUTURE EVENTS:

6th April MeetingWe are hoping to have a speaker from the Soil Association.

Plant Sale, 17th MayJust a gentle reminder that the plant 2014 is coming over the horizon and that for some contributions its probably time to get started.
