Community Remedy Consultation

The following is a link to a consultation that is currently being carried out on proposals to introduce legislation to allow police and crime commissioners (or the relevant local policing body) to give victims of low-level crime (such as low-level criminal damage and low-value thefts) and antisocial behaviour a say in the punishment of the offender.

The Police are endeavouring to get as much feedback as possible.

Next Wednesday could be an important day for the future of the NHS in Enfield. 38 Degrees members are getting together to hand in the local 38 Degrees petition to the Enfield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). Could you come along to meet members of your local CCG?

Here’s the details:
15:00 – 17:00, Wednesday 16th January
Dugdale Centre
Room 1, Thomas Hardy House
39 London Road
Enfield
EN2 6DS

As well as helping to save the NHS, these petition hand-ins are a great chance to have a chat with other 38 Degrees members who live in Enfield.

Could you come along on Wednesday to help hand in the petition? Please click here to join in or find out more:
https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/enfield-petition-hand-in

Right now, local doctors in Enfield are forming a Clinical Commissioning Group. This new group will have power to decide what health services you and your neighbours are able to access and who provides them.

The doctors on Enfield CCG will be under pressure from the government to slash costs and hand out contracts to private companies. That could put vital services at risk.

Wednesday’s meeting will be a chance to present the local petition to the CCG and ask them to use their new powers to protect our NHS, not privatise it.

Can you join in? Click here:
https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/enfield-petition-hand-in

Hope you can make it,

Marie, Travis, Ian, Robin and the 38 Degrees team

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 11,000 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 18 years to get that many views.
